How do programs work?

A program takes you through a set of items (kana, N5 words and kanji, numbers, verb forms, listening) a few at a time, in a sensible order. Each chapter opens when you've learned 80% of the one before it.

Practice chapters show what you've learned in another form (kana in handwriting, for example). Sprints are timed multiple-choice runs over everything so far. Tests (one per kana script) are 20 typed answers with no hints; pass with 90%. None of them block the next chapter. What you learn keeps coming back in Smart Review.
