About this practice test
JLPT N5 has three parts: language knowledge (vocabulary), language knowledge (grammar) with reading, and listening. This test asks the same kinds of question: how a word in kanji is read, what a word means, which particle fits a sentence, which verb form is right, and what you heard.
It uses N5's free items (300: the 100 most common words, the first kanji, particles, verb forms and sentences), so anyone can take it, again and again in a new order. The full N5 is in the N5 program. It is practice, not the official test. For how the real exam is scored, see the N5 passing score. For how long to prepare, see how long to study for N5.
