How do XP and levels work?

You earn XP for answers right on the first try (fewer with a hint), with bonuses for accuracy and for a perfect session without hints; practice mode earns none.

Your level follows your total XP: level 2 at 100 XP, level 3 at 400, level 4 at 900, each a little further than the last, each with its own title.
